Doctora en Ciencias, participó en los Programas: South-South Fellowship de Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) y la Univ de Chile. Fellowship en el IBBA con la Univ Mayor de San Andrés, La Paz, Bolivia y el IRD de Francia. Fellowship Welcome Trust, Univ de Oxford, Inglaterra. Ha gestionado y desarrollado proyectos que han generado conocimiento y tecnología en el área de Fisiología y Medicina de Altura en humanos, Fisiología Comparada en especies nativas de nivel del mar y de hipoxia, programas de investigación, desarrollo e innovación, generación de paquetes tecnológicos y transferencia tecnológica a empresas, asociaciones civiles y profesionales en general. Conferencista en Congresos y Reuniones Internacionales sobre investigación básica y aplicada, gestión, innovación y transferencia tecnológica. Ha recibido premio de la Fundación Instituto Hipólito Unanue y ADEX. Recibió el Doctor Honoris Causa de la UNTumbes. Reconocimiento como “Profesor Honorario” de UNTumbes, “Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo” y Universidad de San Pedro, Chimbote. Distinción “Visitante Ilustre” de la UNPiura y UNHuaraz, “Huésped Distinguido” de UNTrujillo y “Miembro Honorario” por Asociación Peruana de Odontología Preventiva y Social. Producción científica: alrededor de 70 artículos en revistas indexadas, capítulos de libros sobre hematología, óxido nítrico, sistema autónomo y mal de montaña crónico en altura e impacto de ambiente de hipoxia en humanos y animales; artículos de difusión sobre gestión de la investigación, transferencia tecnológica y propiedad intelectual. Ha sido Jefe de Dpto Acad de Cs Bs y Fs de la Facultad de Ciencias y Filosofía (FCF) (2004-2008) y Directora Universitaria de Investigación, Ciencia y Tecnología (ICyT) del 2008-2013. Profesora Principal de la FCF. Actualmente es Directora del Centro de Investigación para el Desarrollo Integral y Sostenible (CIDIS) y Directora Ejecutiva del CITEacuícola UPCH.
