Según la OMS, entre 8 a 10 millones de personas en el mundo están infectadas. Actualmente, el diagnóstico de rutina se basa en la detección de anticuerpos. El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer la epidemiología de las Enterobacterias circulantes en el INSN-SB mediante el uso de herramientas microbiológicas, moleculares y genómicas. Proyectos de investigación “Potencial uso de antígenos recombinantes para la discriminación de la etapa aguda y crónica de Toxoplasmosis en pacientes con VIH/SIDA”, La toxoplasmosis es una infección causada por el parásito Toxoplasma gondii. Actualmente, la enfermedad afecta aproximadamente a un tercio de la población mundial, y representa un riesgo en salud pública principalmente en poblaciones inmunocomprometidas (pacientes VIH/SIDA y mujeres embarazadas).
