VAISBERG WOLACH ABRAHAM JAIME

Profesor Principal de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH). Graduado como bachiller en ciencias de la UPCH y obtuvo su PhD en Biología en la Universidad de Brandeis (Massachussets, USA). Su trayectoria docente y científica es conocida dentro y fuera del país. Su liderazgo en el campo científico se basa no sólo en su sólida preparación sino en su reconocido compromiso y dedicación a la ciencia. Entre muchos logros, lideró el diseño y construcción del ya reconocido Laboratorio de Investigación y Desarrollo de la Facultad de Ciencias y Filosofía (LID), del cual es su Director desde su creación en 1995. Ha recibido reconocimientos, entre ellos ha sido elegido miembro de número de la Academias Nacional de Ciencias del Perú y de la Academia Latinoamericana de Ciencias. Realiza proyectos de investigación financiados por diversas organizaciones de prestigio nacional e internacional que sirven no sólo para generar conocimientos sino también para formar nuevos investigadores. Tiene más de 60 publicaciones en revistas indexadas entre las que destacan su aporte a la evolución de la inmunidad pasiva y respuesta a la vacunación contra el sarampión y sus variados estudios con plantas de la medicina tradicional del Perú con la finalidad de descubrir nuevos agentes terapéuticos a partir de nuestra biodiversidad.
