Biólogo titulado y Magíster, ambos obtenidos en la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). PhD en la Universidad Brigham Young en Utah, USA. Con interes en evolución de caracteres, delimitación de especies y conservacion de anfibios y reptiles. Participación en proyectos relacionados al estudio de la biodiversidad de anfibios y reptiles peruanos. Docente en la Escuela Académico Profesional de Biología y en la Escuela de Postgrado de la Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas de la UNMSM. Jefe del Departamento de Herpetología, Museo de Historia Natural de la UNMSM. Responsable del Laboratorio de Sistemática y Ecología de Vertebrados de la Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas de la UNMSM. Con participación en comunicaciones a congresos nacionales e internacionales. Participación en publicaciones de revistas nacionales e internacionales. Consultor respecto a la herpetofauna peruana.

Proyectos de investigación Diversidad de anfibios y reptiles en el departamento de Ica con implicancias en zonas prioritarias para su conservación El objetivo del estudio es hacer un registro de los anfibios y reptiles del departamento de Ica que incluirá evaluaciones de campo para obtener información primaria de zonas con vacíos de información. Entre los resultados esperados se encuentra nuevos registros o descubrimiento de nuevas especies de anfibios y reptiles. Proyectos de investigación Estudio de la diversidad de las lagartijas del género Stenocercus en los Andes del centro del Perú (Reptilia: Tropiduridae) El presente proyecto tiene como objetivo estudiar el estatus taxonómico de la lagartija Stenocercus chrysopygus, endémica de los Andes del centro del Perú. Desde hace casi medio siglo se ha acumulado evidencia de diferencias morfológicas entre poblaciones de S. chrysopygus que indican la posible presencia de varias especies morfológicamente similares o crípticas, pendientes de ser descritas, bajo este nombre.
